The challenge
Conducted by ICORG as part of the PanIIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026, the Ideathon invited school students from Classes 8–12 across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to identify real problems in their communities and develop technology-driven solutions, across nine thematic areas aligned to the Swarna Andhra @2047 vision.
From 15 schools to the Grand Showcase
Approximately 80–90 teams of three to four members participated. Their ideas spanned agriculture, energy, road safety, logistics and product innovation. After rigorous evaluation rounds, 11 teams were selected for the Grand Showcase, presented to CEOs, investors, alumni, policy makers and founders.
Key interactions
PanIIT Chairman Shri Prabhat Kumar and Vice Chairman Shri Amitabh Ranjan interacted with the student teams. Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu garu visited the ICORG Social Innovation Ideathon showcase at the PanIIT Andhra Pradesh Summit. Mr. Surya Teja, IAS, CEO of Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, also spent time with the students.
Mentoring before the stage
Under the guidance of Prof. Muralikrishna Iyyanki, ICORG mentored students across eight or more schools through visits in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with online sessions for more. Students learned to observe real problems in streets, markets, schools and homes, speak to the people affected, and ask “why” repeatedly to reach root causes.
